Mission Statement
To unite Physical Therapists in private practice throughout the State of New York, for the purpose of maintaining a compact, representative and centralized agency to consider, agree and act upon all matters affecting the practice of Physical Therapy; to elevate the standard of integrity, honor and courtesy in the practice of Physical Therapy and to cherish the spirit of brotherhood among the members of the profession; to promote and advance the science of Physical Therapy; to stimulate interest in the dissemination and exchange of knowledge pertaining to Physical Therapy; to encourage the highest ethical standards in the practice of Physical Therapy and to enhance the relationship of Physical Therapy to health care in its totality; to further the elevation of the educational and professional requirements for the practice of Physical therapy; to increase the opportunity among students and practicioners for scientific knowledge and clinical experience; to advocate adequate and proper statutory regulations and liberalization of the practice of Physical Therapy and to accept whatever responsibility such statutory regulation may permit or impose.
